Let me express my thanks to all of you having contributed in many ways to the huge success of turning on LHC yesterday. It was a great moment and will be in our memories for a long time.
Special thanks to all those who set up and managed to keep the communication systems going, who improvised quickly when we reached the limits, and who put additional systems into place very quickly. Another prove of CERN’s and IT’s capacity to deal with exceptional situations.
More details and results will be communicated next week, but just one figure: daily average number of hits on WEB servers is 4 million, yesterday it was over 100 million
